1. Introduction
Welcome to COD Blacklist by Appsetup (“the App”), a tool that helps merchants manage a blacklist of customers and configure rules to hide specific payment methods (e.g., Cash on Delivery) at checkout. By installing or using the App, you (“User”, “Merchant”, or “you”) agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.
2. Acceptance Of Terms
Your access to and use of the App is conditioned on your acceptance of, and compliance with, these Terms. These Terms apply to all Merchants and to any related services we provide in connection with the App.
3. Description Of The App
The App is provided “as is” and enables you to:
Maintain a centralized blacklist of customer identifiers (e.g., phones, emails).
Import entries in bulk (CSV/XLSX), search, page, and manage “Allowed” overrides (whitelist).
Configure a target payment method label (e.g., “Cash on Delivery (COD)”) and thresholds.
Create rules based on order total, shipping rates, location, and customer tags.
Enforce settings through Shopify Payment Customization (Shopify Functions) within your store.
4. Accounts, Access, Eligibility
You must have a valid Shopify store and appropriate administrative privileges to install and use the App. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Shopify credentials and any API keys you provide.
5. Merchant Responsibilities
Configuration: You are solely responsible for configuring payment method names, thresholds, rules, and blacklist entries; ensure they match your storefront labels and test in checkout before going live. Lawful Basis: You must have a lawful basis for processing any personal data used for blacklist decisions and comply with all applicable privacy, consumer, and e-commerce laws. Accuracy: You are responsible for the accuracy of all data you enter or import. Operational Impact: You accept that hiding payment methods may affect conversion and customer experience and assume all related risks.
6. Fraud And Risk Disclaimer
The App is not a fraud-prevention guarantee and does not ensure detection or prevention of fraudulent or fake orders. It may reduce risk exposure, but cannot eliminate it. Appsetup is not responsible for fraudulent transactions, chargebacks, failed deliveries, revenue loss, or operational costs arising from your use or configuration of the App.
7. Third-Party Services
The App may interact with Shopify APIs and other third-party services only as required for its functionality. Appsetup is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or terms of any third-party platforms. You are responsible for ensuring your use of third-party services complies with their respective terms and applicable laws.
8. Data And Privacy
Data Location: Customer identifiers and App settings are stored in your Shopify store’s metafields and/or other Shopify resources. The App does not maintain a separate external database of your customers. Privacy Policy: Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains data collection, storage, protection, and your responsibilities as a controller. In the event of conflict, these Terms control contractual obligations while the Privacy Policy governs data-handling practices. Shopify Terms: You must comply with the Shopify Terms of Service, API Terms, and the Shopify Partner Program Agreement (as applicable).
9. Plans, Billing, Trials
Plan features, limits, and pricing may vary. Some features may require a paid plan. If you upgrade/downgrade or cancel, changes take effect per Shopify’s billing processes and our plan rules shown in-app.
10. Service Changes And Availability
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the App at any time, with or without notice. We provide no uptime guarantees, especially for third-party services.
11. Intellectual Property
Appsetup owns all rights, title, and interest in and to the App, including the software and documentation, excluding Shopify and third-party marks and content referenced herein. All third-party names and logos are trademarks/service marks of their respective owners. No rights are granted or implied.
12. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
Use the App for unlawful, defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, or infringing purposes.
Scrape, crawl, or bulk export any third-party content or circumvent access controls or rate limits.
Interfere with or disrupt the App, Shopify APIs, or third-party services.
13. Disclaimers
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or availability. Appsetup does not control or verify third-party content. Any reliance on third-party information is at your sole risk.
14. Limitation Of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Appsetup, its affiliates, and suppliers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business interruption. In no event shall Appsetup’s aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the App exceed the fees you paid for the App in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to liability (or, if none, USD $100).
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Appsetup and its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to:
Your use of the App;
Your configuration and enforcement of rules/blacklists;
Your imports, entries, or data stored via the App;
Your violation of these Terms or applicable laws;
Your misuse of third-party data or violation of third-party terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Appsetup is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of competent courts in that jurisdiction.
17. Modifications To Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted in the App or on our website. Your continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
18. Termination
You may stop using or uninstall the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately for any violation of these Terms, suspected misuse, legal request, or risk to the App or third parties.
